Pursuing a number 1 C
Think this is the year you guys package Ulmark plus picks and or prospects for a young 1C! I think Ottawa and Norris might be a favorable option, kid is injury prone but when he is healthy he is a very good option.

While lindholm is a better option than you guys had this year, I would put him a step below Hertl who at best is a weak #1 but a very strong #2 C

You'Re a rebuilding team thats in it for a while now and that's what it's worth. You're getting two top 10 picks and Harris for the top pick. Looka t the last trade for no.1 overall. I'm not far off. I'd give you a prospect but seeing as you are rebuilding I don't thin that'S what you want. You want to delay as long as you can and start drafting defensemen, goalies and then forwards. I could see the masking for Reinbacher or Mailloux vs Harris and I think that we'D listen. But this offer is by no ways a stretch of the imagination. YOu imagining that the way to go is to add a center who wonMt want to resign in 4 years because you haven't built right is what's scary to hear. The only teams not trading Celebrini are already in a rebuild and thats : Montreal, Chicago, Anaheim and Utah. The Sharks are trading down and setting up for next year already, trust me. It'S the way to go.</div></div>
Trust me it’s not! You grab it layers like Celebrini and build around them that’s the way to go!

Wings have potential
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lancebmx</b></div><div>Copp has more value to the team than people think based on his stats. If he had the o-zone starts he did with Winnipeg and New York, not many would blink at acquiring him. The funny thing is, if you look at his stats, he didn't even have a down year offensively, he is actually on par with his normal production. The difference is this year he has a career high percentage starting in the defensive zone. So the fact is, he is matching his normal point production while getting less offensive zone time. Way more valuable to the red Wings than people want to admit, they just look at point totals on here and call him a cap dump. Copp will be traded or bought out. He is very valuable to this team.
To San Jose, you can say he would need sweeteners but in all reality if Mike Grier had the chance to add a player like him, he should jump at it.</div></div>
Why though? Both these players add a lot of salary but do they make this a playoff team? Do they add to ticket sales?
Like I said I’m not arguing both have value, the issue is they don’t have that much value to the sharks unless a couple higher picks are attached! This off-season sharks should be looking for cap dumps with 1-2 years left on their deals that can net them some draft picks for taking them on

I wont disagree with these players having value, the issue is both players value is not close to what their cap hit is. So yes, if you wanted to trade them to the sharks, the sharks would ask for some pics in return to take on the cap!

Enough or too much
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Andy_Dick</b></div><div>Celebrini doesnt look like that saviour. He's a piece to the finish line ala Jonathan Toews . The 1st overall picks usually get overhyped leading up to the draft. Not Even Bedard will be able to save Chicago if the Hawks don't manage their assets well enough. I agree Bedard is miles better than Celebrini and he's proven thus far but his size is/will be an issue unlike say a Matthews or McDavid that can take over games on their own using their size to shield themselves from defenders. Bedard got mandhandled all year and why they had to put Foligno on his line. He will definitely win some scoring titles but the Hawks will need a ton more pieces if they want a Cup as he will be targeted in the playoffs.</div></div>
No one player can make or break a team! But sharks need a true #1 C and Will Smith is very good… but he isn’t a clear cut #1 C IMO Celebrini is.
And yea sharks need lots of pieces but they are building a decent future right now and in a few years we will start seeing their growth

I wouldnt pay that price for Bedard much less Celebrini. You need an actual team or you become the sharks or hawks.</div></div>
Bedard would cost more, and as a sharks fan I’m not arguing it’s not a good value, but sharks need a franchise piece and while this is 4 good pieces, Celebrini would be sharks next Marleau type franchise piece.

Iginla and Yakemchuk go high
Sharks had zero Russian scouting this year and ended up firing their scout, so I doubt they dip into Russian players early due to a lack of scouting, beyond that they desperately need an offensive RD and have limited need for a defensive LD (even a borderline elite one)

100% honesty if sharks trade for the Weber cap hit for kinda expect it to cost Sharks a 6th/7th. It has value now in the fact that it helps team hit cap floor while only costing 1 mil actual salary.

In truth the return Grier got is the best return he could have and the draft luck getting Musty helped a lot.

Any thoughts on Okhotiuk? In my eyes he was always a number 7 type dman with some grit. Would have been nice to keep around but probably lost to waivers if we didn't move him. Hatakka played way better than I expected him to in all honesty when he was called upon</div></div>
Hatakka and Okhotiyuk are exactly the same type of player, sharks dealt Okhotiyuk already lol.
They are ideal 7th D that can step in and play, but neither is layer are any more than that.

Shakir was always a very underrated prospect. How is he looking, since I haven't gotten to watch a lot of him lately?</div></div>
He looks like a legit 2nd pairing #3 D. He is solid 2 way guy but I don’t see him being a good top pair. Still he’s a super valuable guy.

There however is not a space on NJD to get him 15.5 minutes a night even strength+PP1 time, and I'm not sure he's a great fit into a defensive bottom 6 role.</div></div>
You 100% did and I was pissed we didn’t get Holtz. In retrospect he better fits our top 9 skill and style wise.
We also love Mukh as he is developing very nicely and then to add Musty who was a gift and has developed beyond my expectations so far, plus another pick this year that deal really worked out well for the sharks. And I have to believe the 2nd half of this season Meier is looking more like himself and will be valuable for you guys.
